Stone lithography and hand embroidery with cochineal dyed yarn (2013)
Using the traditional printmaking technique of stone lithography, these prints pay homage to the iconic volcanoes in Mexico’s Volcanic Axis: Popocatépetl and Iztaccĺhuatl. Stories associated with the volcanoes are suggested by embroidered images created using yarn dyed with cochineal.
These works were created during an artist’s residency with Arquetopia Foundation in Puebla, Mexico 2013 and exhibited in Original Prints 2013 at The Substation in Singapore.
